How do you get to live forever?

Everybody wants to find meaning in life. Everybody wants their life to count for something. And yet we live in a world that tries its best to rob us of our personality identity and worth. Too often we feel like cogs in a machine or numbers waiting to be pulled from a hat. Our frustrations grow as we live out our years seeking something more, something lasting... something to make our lives worthwhile and unique.

God never intended for us to live meaningless lives. He created us with the desire of building a relationship with us! What could possibly be more rewarding and fulfilling than knowing God and having Him as your best friend?

But there is a problem. God is holy and we are not. (Psalm 99:9 and Romans 3:23) Every time we disobey God's law (sin) by compromising our integrity, morality, or by worshipping anyone or anything other than the one true God we prove ourselves unworthy of His love! The Bible teaches us that the price for sin is death! (Romans 6:23) This death is not just a physical death but a permanent, spiritual death. Spiritual death results in eternal punishment in a place of torment. The Bible calls this place hell. Hell was never intended to be inhabited by human beings but by the angels that rebelled against God by claiming that they would become as strong and mighty as He Himself is. Their place of punishment has become the place of punishment for anyone who dies without God's forgiveness.

And so how do you find this forgiveness that God desires to give you? Well, that is easy for us... but it was very difficult for Jesus. You see, God's righteousness demands that sin be paid for. The only one able to pay for our sin in our place was God's own Son, Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that God loves us so much that He sent His own Son to die in our place. (John 3:16) That is why Jesus suffered and died on the cross. He was paying for the sins of every individual person that would accept the free gift of His sacrifice.

Today, if you would like to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, resulting in an eternal friendship with God, you can! It is as simple as A-B-C.

A- Admit that you are forever separated from God by sin.

B- Believe that Jesus came and died on the cross for you so that you can live forever.

C-Confess (admit) your sin verbally before God and ask His forgiveness.

You can do this right now, wherever you are. Simply talk to God, admitting your sin, telling Him that you believe not only in Him but in His payment for your sin, and confess to Him that you want His way in your life forever.

If you have done that, congratulations! You have begun an awesome journey that will last throughout eternity!
