Our Mission

People matter to God.

Luke 15

The Gospel message transforms lives.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come!”  2 Corinthians 5:17

The goal of our ministry is to transform people into fully devoted followers of Christ, in this community and around the world.

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.  Surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the age.”   Matthew 28:18-20

“It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceit and scheming.  Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is,  Christ.  From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”  Ephesians 4:11-16

Ministry and evangelism must be carried out in a relevant way.

“… I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.”   I Corinthians 9:22b

People must be treated gently and respectfully.

“But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord.   Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.  But do this with gentleness and respect…”  I Peter 3:15

People need to be connected to a caring and real community of others who love them.

“Now about brotherly love we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other.  And in fact, you love all the brothers throughout Macedonia.  Yet we urge you, brothers, to do so more and more.”    I Thessalonians 4:9-10

Every Christian has a God-given ministry.

“…to prepare God’s people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up…”    Ephesians 4:12

Everything we do for Christ must be done with excellence.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward”   Colossians 3:23-24

Our church must have an evangelistic impact on our community.

“So the Word of God spread.  The number of disciples in Jerusalem increased rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.”      Acts 6:7

“The news of your faith in God is out.  We don’t even have to say anything more – you’re the message!  I Thessalonians 1:8 (MSG)

To accomplish our mission we must be willing to step out in visionary faith and take risks for God!

“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.”   Hebrews 11:6
